Hey, thanks for visiting!
My name is Scott Allison, and I created this site because I work in tech, lived in the Bay Area for years, and chose to relocate to Las Vegas, where I now work from home (WFH). I took advantage of the sudden acceptance of remote work after COVID hit, and I'm so happy to be back here. I created this site to talk about Vegas as a real option for remote workers, and I want to share with a wider audience what I love about living here. I'll try to be objective, and honest, there's definitely both pros and cons, it's far from perfect, but it works for me.
I'm originally from Scotland, so you might be wondering how I ended up in Vegas. It all started in 2011 when I moved from London to Silicon Valley while working on my startup. I went through 500 Startups accelerator program, and then raised a round of funding that was led by the late Tony Hsieh's Vegas Tech Fund. So that's what brought me to Las Vegas originally in 2013. In 2015 I then returned back to San Francisco when I joined a new startup. After 5 years thinking about one day moving back, I came back permanently to Las Vegas in 2020 when COVID hit and remote work became an accepted thing by bay area tech companies.
I'll be posting regularly here, sharing my experiences, and answering questions. If you have any you'd like me to answer please get in touch. Also, if like me you're already working remote in Vegas and would like to write a guest blog please reach out.
